here's a first

For the first time in 18 years, I did not go to school today :D
Oh yes, rebel me. Skipping school. I don't think I'll go tomorrow either ;P

here's a funny story... went to my friend's church in vancouver on sunday. I sat beside her younger sister. An auntie was asking my friend's sister what grade she was going to. She said grade 12. Then the auntie looks at me and asks "so are you going to grade 12 too?"

Yes auntie. But I've decided to skip school.

I had the best time in vancouver! I ate so much and my friend's mom rocks! Treated us to so many meals!! But the polite girl my parents raised in me, had to treat auntie back at dimsum. It was a tough fight with auntie but I won :) Here's the trick: make sure auntie sits on the inside and you sit on the outside. I've also discovered in my many years of trying to treat adults to meals, you're better able to win the fight if the bill is light. Like eating dimsum, it doesn't really cost that much so they usually would let you take the bill. But not without a fight!

Of course, some are thinking, why would I wanna fight for the bill?! If you think that, obviously, you're not chinese. That or you're just plain rude, you have no shame or you have no money. Even if you have no money, you should attempt to pay for the bill anyways. Just make sure you lose the fight for it. This way, at least it shows you have manners AND you get a free meal!

I can't believe how much I missed Chinese food. Good chinese food. I have a feeling I will be back up in Vancouver very soon.
