Show N' Tell

For this entire past week, I have been at church helping out with our Urban Mission Week. The theme was called 'Show N' Tell'. It was a pretty interesting week and reminded me once again that missions isn't just about going overseas to spread the gospel. People right here in our own homes need God too. In Acts 1:8, Jesus commands us to be his witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth. He doesn't just tell us to go straight to the ends of the earth. We're suppose to start close and then work our way out. Witnessing first to the people within our community first, whether this community be our city, our own culture, our groups of friends or even our own family. How can we go to the ends of the earth to spread the gospel when our family and friends haven't even heard of God's love? And it's not just about telling them the gospel. We have to show them.

It was a really unique experience to go down to Scott's Missions today to help out with their foodbank. Although it was tiring and labourous work, it was a good experience. I'm glad so many people showed up to witness the love of Christ to the people in downtown Toronto.
