Jesus' cleansing flow
Today was most awesome! I woke up with a bad stomach ache but because of the beautiful weather, there was nothing that could dampen my spirit. Worship today was amazing, I feel so blessed to lead worship with my team. We've known each other for so long and everytime we lead worship, we only unite closer and closer together in one spirit to worship our incredible God! Go Team Ryerson! haha, we really need a new name...
It totally feels like summer today, it was (still is) 18 degrees!! There was a huge toss up between playing some basketball or washing my car.. but my car looked at me with its sad, grimy headlights and I knew I just had to wash it. I spent 3 hours washing my car and my mom's car, the outside AND the inside! I even vaccumed it! I was so happy to see it so clean but it also brought sadness... when all the dirt and grim was lovingly rubbed off, the cleaness revealed the many scars my car bore... darn you hit-and-run people!!! if my car could talk, it would be screaming with pain!! I had only come to possess this car since my sister left shortly after Christmas... during these past few months, it was always covered with slush and dirt, I've never noticed just how many scratches are all over it.. my heart aches... I keep running my fingers over all the dents and scratches, hoping my touch will heal its wounds... but it doesn't...
This made me look at my life. I am unclean, covered with filthy sins. I go through life, splashing in the mud and guck, not caring about how dirty it makes my life. I have also been hurt, wounded and scarred by careless people who hit-and-run but also hurt by my own mistakes, my own careless driving. But then my loving owner, creator, comes along and gently rubs the muck off of me, cleansing me to be as white as snow because his heart aches to see me in pain. And unlike my car, after being washed, the scars don't remain because Jesus bore the scars for me. When I am cleaned, I am a new creation. The healing touch of my heavenly Father removes all dents, scratches, bruises and scars from my life. Thank you Jesus for bearing my sins and shame. Now, I only pray that I will let You be the driver of my life so that I won't keep steering myself into trouble....
This also reminds me of a favourite worship song of mine...
Worthy is the Lamb ~ Darlene Zschech
Thank You for the cross Lord
Thank You for the price You paid
Bearing all my sin and shame
In love You came
And gave amazing grace
Thank You for this love Lord
Thank You for the nail pierced hands
Wash me in Your cleansing flow
Now all I know
Your forgiveness and embrace
Worthy is the Lamb, seated on the throne
Crown You now with many crowns, You reign victorious
High and lifted up, Jesus, Son of God
The darling of heaven, crucified
Worthy is the Lamb
