what miracles do you see?

It's quite exciting that I'm triple booked for worship this week! I love leading worship because I'm never prepared for it. So when I'm up there, talking about each song we're doing and what those songs truly mean, the words that I say are not rehearsed, they're not planned out, I just say what comes to my mind when I think of that song. I'm most vulnerable when I'm up there because I speak from the heart, I don't have time to think through what I say and edit thoughts. Many times, I'm surprised by what I say. It's times like those that I truly feel the Holy Spirit speaking through me.

During fellowship last night, as we were singing the last song, I asked the kids to take a moment to reflect upon all the things God did for them that week. I asked the pianist and guitarist to just keep playing while we reflected. We never planned this during worship practice, I never planned for this. But as I stood up there on the stage, looking down at everyone's faces, I saw eyes that were distracted, eyes that weren't truly focused on the ONE we were worshipping. I saw my own eyes staring right back at me. We are busy busy creatures. We fill our cups to the rim with school, work, social functions, friends, family... there's no room for God. The only time we think about God is on Sunday or when we've sinned...then we're begging for God's mercy.

But God thinks about us everyday, every hour, every second. When we're crossing the street, God is watching over us, making sure we cross safely. When we walk down the stairs, God is walking infront of us, making sure we don't fall. That doesn't happen for everyone. We always ask God for miracles, we ask Him to reveal himself to us but when he does, we don't see him or recognize him. God is doing miracles in our lives everyday and pours abundant blessings on us but we simply do not recognize it or take the time to seek Him. The fact that I can wake up every morning is enough of a miracle for me!

What miracle is God doing in your life right this moment?
