the right reason for ministry - part 3

So I've come to a few conclusions.

First, it doesn't really matter because everything ultimately comes down to God's will. I could have all the right skills, knowledge, experience, passion, desires, advice, opinions and support in the world but if God hasn't called me to full-time ministry, then it's not something to pursue.

Second, seeking the advice of the church around me is still critical because as said before, it's important to affirm each other's gifts and calling. So I think if they give me a one-sided advice right away or worst, have already assumed a direction for me to take, then I need to put into consideration that their advice might be swayed by something other than the Spirit. I always love it when I ask someone for advice and they say that they'll get back to me because they want to pray about it first or find more information.

Third, there's really nothing I can do about it. No one is perfect and we all do things for the wrong reasons. It's the same as asking for any other life-changing advice. Like asking about what program I should go into for university. I asked a million people what I should study and got a whole bunch of advice and opinions. Some reasons were just plain dumb, greedy and selfish but that's what we're like. I make dumb, greedy and selfish decisions all the time and look how well I turned out! (<-- sarcasm) But I guess the key is to seek advice from various TRUSTED people and get different opinions and then bring it to the Father's feet so he can stomp out the bad ones. :P
